The youth work service for Southend-on-Sea City Council run groups for children and young people who are Young Carers and those with SEND. The SEND groups are as follows:
Sycamore for ages 5 to 8 years. Held at Shoeburyness Youth Centre (SYC) on Wednesdays, 3:30pm to 5pm. Session lead - Marie Gold mariegold@southend.gov.uk
JINGAS for ages 9 to16 years. Held at SYC on Thursdays, 6pm to 7:30pm. Session lead - Louise Collinson louisecollinson@southend.gov.uk
SENDsocial for young people aged 16 to 25 years. Held at St Luke’s Hub, Cluny Square on Thursdays, 7:30pm to 9pm. Session lead - Debbie Knott debbieknott@southend.gov.uk
They welcome parent carers to visit our sessions with their children prior to joining, and parents are welcome in the reception area at SYC if their child needs personal care or is anxious about being left initially.
