What are ARRS Roles and how do they support patients?

The general practice workforce comprises various clinical and non-clinical roles. They work together to provide patient care. Yet, patients usually expect to speak with a GP first. This may only sometimes be the most appropriate person. General practice has introduced inclusive patient access. It also includes triaging routes to the most suitable professional or service. We did this to address this. Since 2019, the Extra Roles Reimbursement Scheme has recruited hundreds of staff into new roles within general practice in mid and south Essex. Patients need more understanding of their roles.

These are some of the available roles at the Southend East PCN. If you would like to know more, please contact us.
