Summer Health & Wellbeing Day

We held our Summer Health and Wellbeing Day on July 10th, at the Shoebury and Thorpe Bay Baptist Church, located at 90 Thorpedene Gardens, Southend-on-Sea, SS3 9JD.

This day was designed to provide patients with valuable health and wellbeing resources.

We had 306 patient attend the event with 185 patient getting their Blood Pressure Checked, at this event we had the following services.

Everyone Health (Talk Time 10.00am)
Southend Carers (Talk Time 11.00am)
Therapy For You (Talk Time 11.30am)
Brook Sexual Health (Talk Time 12.30pm)
Diabetes UK (Talk Time 1pm)
Carers Intensive Support Team (Talk Time 1.30pm)
GP - Skin Cancer Awareness (Talk Time 2pm)
COPD Community Connectors
Long Covid Services (Talk Time 3pm)
Citizen Advice Southend
Stop Smoking Support
Yoga 4 All
Communities Team Southend City Council

On the day, we had an array of stands from numerous community service providers, each offering leaflets and personal advice on a wide range of services.

Additionally, the team from Norton Place was be on-site to offer the following health services:

Blood pressure checks and advice
Diabetic foot checks
Raising blood forms for outstanding tests and booking appointments at Norton Place
Women's Health which will include booking Smear tests, pre-screening for Coils/Implant & information on breast checks.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD)
Digital weight management programs for eligible participants
Booking Medication reviews

And much more! This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with your community, receive personalized health advice, and take advantage of various health screenings and support services.

We also offer a series of health prevention talks throughout the day.
